Despite the strategic importance of disruptive innovation at the bottom of the pyramid, this issue hasn't previously been explored in any systematic manner. This insightful book sheds light on the disruptive innovation in the specific context of China from two distinctive perspectives: one for local entrepreneurs emerging from China, and one for foreign incumbents operating in China. Peter Ping Li proposes an integrative theoretical framework from an interdisciplinary perspective, and presents longitudinal comparative case studies. In particular, he highlights the role of disruptive innovation as the core of the 'catching-up and leapfrogging model' for local entrepreneurs in all emerging economies as well as the core of the 'second-home model' for foreign incumbents in all emerging economies.
