A Week at Trail Wood : A Naturalist's Notes and Photos from a Stay at the Edwin Way Teale Trail Wood Sanctuary As a Week-Long Artist in Residence
In July of 2025, naturalist/author/photographer John Himmelman spent a week at the home and grounds of the noted nature writer/photographer Edwin May Teale and his naturalist wife Nellie Way Teale. Following their passing, the property was deeded to Connecticut Audubon, who maintain the 1806 farm house and the 168 acre surrounding sanctuary. As the artist in residence, he spent his days wandering the miles of trails and nights seeking out moths and other insects - taking pictures along the way. This book is a collection of photos of the flora and fauna he found.
