Sir Donald Tsang was Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from 2005 until 2012. This is an eye-witness reportage of his corruption and misconduct trial, which took place in January and February of 2017. Tsang was convicted of misconduct in public office and is currently serving his sentence in Stanley Prison. He is the first chief executive or governor to be convicted of a criminal offence. The trial was shocking in many aspects, not least in the refusal of the accused to offer any defence wtinesses or testimony to explain his alleged received bribe of over three million Hong Kong dollars. The jury could also not decide on a key and damning charge were retried later in 2017. Dr George Adams is a Hong Kong based writer, well known as a blogger and local author.
