Dr. Shadaesha Green earned her PhD from the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Sciences (UMCES), where her research focused on the reproductive biology of female red deep-sea crabs. Her work examined hormonal regulation across life stages and assessed the species' genetic diversity to advance understanding of reproductive processes and population structure. She earned her undergraduate degree in Marine and Environmental Science from Hampton University. Dr. Green currently serves as an Education Grants Specialist in NOAA's Office of Education in Silver Spring, Maryland. Her professional interests center on strengthening community education and preparedness in the face of evolving environmental hazards.
