Laura Allen is the author of Plain & Simple Guide to Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork Examinations (2nd ed., LWW, 2010); One Year to a Successful Massage Therapy Practice (LWW, 2008); A Massage Therapist's Guide to Business (LWW, 2011), and Excuse Me, Exactly How Does That Work: Hocus Pocus in Holistic Health Care (CreateSpace, 2014). In 2015, her revision of Clay & Pounds' Basic Clinical Massage Therapy: Integrating Anatomy & Treatment (3rd ed., LWW) will be released. Allen started her massage career in 1999 as the administrator of a massage school. She ended up teaching ethics and marketing to her own class when she decided to attend the school. She is interested in the politics of the massage profession and has been blogging about it since 2007 on the Massage Magazine website. Ryan Hoyme started teaching massage full-time in 2001.
