Jane McLaughlin writes poetry and fiction and her work has appeared in many magazines and anthologies. She was longlisted in the National Poetry Competition 2012, shortlisted in the Bridport Prize 2013 and has been commended and listed in other major competitions. Her story A Roof of Red Tiles won the Cinnamon Press Writers Award and is the title story of the anthology. Her e-book The Abbots Cat, also published by Cinnamon Press, a crossover novella for adults and older children, has received excellent reviews on Amazon. She was selected for the Cinnamon Press mentoring programme in 2013 and completed it in 2014. She won the Cinnamon Press debut poetry collection 2014 and her debut collection is forthcomming. Jane lives in London and belongs to several writers groups there. She works as a consultant in adult and further education.

James Roberts lives in the Black Mountains of Wales. Recent poetry and essays have been published by Agenda, Envoi, Earthlines, The Island Review and The Clearing (Little Toller Press). He is editor of Zoomorphic a new online magazine of wildlife writing. His cross-over novel The Man in the Mountain was published in 2015 by Sea Campion Press.Mair De-Gare Pitt was born in Nelson, attended Swansea University, and now lives in Cwmbran with her family where she works as a tutor in English and Creative Writing. Her study of Tagore and Yeats was published as The Maya Yogi and the Mask (SUP). She writes drama, critical work, fiction and poetry, which has appeared in Planet, Poetry Wales, Orbis, Envoi and Red Poets, and was shortlisted in the Keats-Shelley Poetry Award. Cathy Whittakers poems have been published in many magazines and anthologies including Mslexia, Orbis, Brittle Star, Artemis, Soul Feathers, Indigo Press (for MacMillan Cancer).

She won the Stratford upon Avon Literary Festival Prize and was the runner up for the Baker Prize. She has been the Poet Laureate for Warwick. She teaches Creative Writing and works with a colleague offering writing workshops for all kinds of groups; openmindwriting.com. The poems in this anthology are taken from a collection of poems about her childhood in the Lake District.Joanne Stryker has been active in the poetry world in Ontario, Canada. Selected to participate in Don McKays Creative Writing Seminar course at the University of Western Ontario, she has also taught writing classes for children, teens, and adults, & was guest lecturer on Creativity in Brescia College, UWO, Ontario. Her poems have been published in several Canadian literary journals Room of Ones Own, Event, Contemporary Verse 2, Arc, The New Quarterly, Grubstreet, The Peoples Poetry Letter, Matrix, and in several anthologies, including Kemeny Babineaus Mentors Canon (Broken Jaw Press, 2001).
