A young man falls to his death from a balcony at a Cuban resort. Detective Sergeant Nicholas Drumm, investigating a string of brutal sexual assaults back home in York, is reluctantly drawn into a suspicious death that happened on foreign soil. Along the way he battles a cold, Canadian winter, a persistent TV reporter and an antagonistic superior. The ending is as surprising as it is believable.
