JAMES A. ANDERSON is the former Chancellor and Professor of Psychology at Fayetteville State University (2008 - 2020). He previously served at SUNY Albany, Texas A&M University, North Carolina State University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Xavier University of New Orleans. He is the author of the book: "Driving Change Through Diversity and Globalization - Transformative Leadership in the Academy," and he edited the book: "The Unfinished Agenda of Brown V. Board of Education." He also has published numerous book chapters and journal articles. He has served as a consultant for the accrediting body, SACSCOC. He holds an undergraduate degree from Villanova University, and a Ph.

D. in psychology from Cornell University. He was born and raised in Washington, DC.He served on the Board of Trustees at Villanova University for two 5-year terms, and he continues to serve on the Board of Directors for CASL (Center for the Advancement of STEM Leadership), the Board of Directors for the North Carolina History Center on the Civil War, Emancipation, and Reconstruction, and the Board of Trustees for St. John's College Prep High School, and the community organization of 100 Black Men. He is also a member of the oldest professional fraternity for Black Men, Sigma Pi Phi.
