When Nan went to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, she loved watching the sea lions playing in the water because it reminded her of the fun kids have playing on playgrounds. She wondered if they ever think "What Could Be Going On?" when another sea lion gets on their favorite rock or bumps them when they are frolicking in the waves or decides to sleep too close together or gets in their space. Hard to know, of course, but she did observe that when those things happened, they did what Inigo learned to do: "talk" it out or just move on, choosing to think the best of others. Nan is a pediatric occupational therapist who writes books about doing hard things at home and school. The books are about emotional regulation, social-emotional learning and solving problems that come up in everyday life. Her mission is to provide tools for families that will have a positive impact on children's mental health.
