For several decades, Mr. Bach has represented employers of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to small start-ups, and has completed thousands of visa cases for talented international employees. From 1987 to 1990, Mr. Bach was the head of the Immigration Law Department of Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May (now Reed Smith), one of California's largest and most prestigious law firms, and he has been the Principal Attorney of the Law Offices of James A. Bach since 1990. Mr. Bach received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his law degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. He has been a Member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association continuously since 1980.
In 1989, Mr. Bach was one of the first lawyers certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law, and he now writes and grades the specialty exam as Commissioner of the Immigration and Nationality Advisory Commission of the California State Bar Association. Mr. Bach has been given the highest A/V rating by Martindale-Hubbell for ability and ethics for over a decade, has an Avvo rating of 10, and is included in the current Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
