Two Versions of Truth tells three stories introducing Professor Dan Blackman, a college English professor in a small town in northern Minnesota. His quiet life is turned around when he meets Larry who is a promising student in his writing class. Larry involves the professor in investigating an arms-smuggling operation across the US/Canadian border. Larry's attractive sister Sarah comes to visit Larry when Larry is hurt in a suspicious accident. Professor Blackman finds himself drawn to Sarah and together they help Larry unravel "two versions" of the smuggling operation. The second story has Professor Blackman visiting Sarah in Texas to continue their affair. They decide to visit the professor's brother in Houston, and a mix-up propels the professor into a terrorism plot at the Port of Houston. Professor Blackman returns to Minnesota in the third story.

He places himself in danger while helping the FBI discover how his campus might be assisting in drug trafficking.
