About the AuthorAmy Baldwin was the child of an Air Force Officer. She and her family lived in the Philippines when she was very young, and she spent her early adolescence in Germany. She's lived in several states: Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, North Carolina, Washington and currently resides in Kalispell, Montana. She feels blessed to have lived in so many places. In 2003, while studying to become a teacher, she was chosen as the only student representative to travel to Kyrgyzstan (other participants were professors and teachers). This was a Fulbright-Hays sponsored, National Geographic Alliance affiliated trip.Amy was raised in a family of educators that loved music, and her number one childhood dream was to teach. This dream was fulfilled when she taught sixth grade language arts at Somers Middle School in Montana for five years.

She considers herself incredibly fortunate for being able to teach.Amy's love of music and language sparked her creative talent, and she learned to play guitar at age 12. Her second dream was to be a professional musician, and Amy played guitar every Saturday night at a local pub, The Cottage Inn (in Kila, MT) for two years. She continues to hone her picking ability and to write songs.Amy lives with her husband, Joe, and their two dogs, Sadie and Stella. Amy's third dream is to write. Her experiences as a mother, grandmother, teacher, singer, and world traveler are her inspiration. One Small Ripple is her first novel.
