Amy Baldwin is the child of an Air Force Officer. Her military upbringing afforded her family the opportunity to live many places, including the Philippines and Germany. Additionally, Amy has traveled to Kyrgyzstan and India.Amy grew up in a family of educators that loved language and music. Those loves were passed along to her. As a small child, she wanted to become a teacher, a singer, and a mother. She has achieved all these dreams: She has four children and two stepdaughters, all grown; she taught 6th grade for 5 years, and she has sung and performed numerous times in and around her community.Amy has always loved to write.

She has kept journals at various times in her life. She has written many songs. It wasn't until she taught school that she began to dream of writing and publishing her own stories. Life has gifted her with many experiences about which to write.Amy lives with her husband, Joe, and their two dogs, Sadie and Stella. She finally decided to actively pursue her latent dream of writing for a living. The Brain Hook and Other Random Stories From a Sixth Grade Classroom is her third book and her second novel.
