Lou Basenese is the creator of the Rebel & The Rooster book series and the author of Suki's Angel, a heartwarming story inspired by real-life rescue, family, and faith. A lifelong storyteller, Lou grew up believing that the simplest moments often carry the greatest meaning. His books reflect that belief-blending adventure, kindness, humor, and heart into stories designed to be read aloud, shared, and remembered. Through the Rebel & The Rooster Adventure Series, Lou introduces young readers to big ideas in gentle ways: courage, empathy, friendship, and the importance of helping others. Suki's Angel is especially personal. Inspired by the true rescue of a Black Lab named Suki by Lou's cousin Angela-known affectionately as "Angel"-the story celebrates adoption, compassion, and the joy of giving a second chance. Like many of Lou's stories, it is rooted in real experiences and shaped to resonate with both children and the adults who read alongside them. In addition to children's books, Lou is also the author of the memoir Between the Sauce, the Stars, and Heaven, where he reflects on family, heritage, faith, and loss.
