"Bridging the Global Gap" is the first major work on the growing internationalist movement that is focusing national attention on the interdependence of nations and on the connections between local and international struggles. This political movement is unlike any in United States history. The diversity of supporters alone make this movement unique. Representatives of unions, schools, churches, community groups, and local government have joined to search for non-violent ways to wage world peace and end poverty. They are traveling across the globe to discover concrete ways of supporting their Third World counterparts. And, in the process they are redefining the real "national interest" of the United States.
