The story follows Dave, a forty something truck driver for B.N.F.L transporting Nuclear Waste across Cumbria from the power station to the processing plant. Dave is not having a good day, with his transport manager, John, causing more problems than he could do with. His day gets worse when he's Hi-jacked by a rather odd ball group of green activists, led by Eric an ex school teacher, who are trying to prove a point to the government and bring the dangers of Nuclear waste to the attention of the public.Back at the power plant there's confusion as to who has the truck and for what reason. John thinks he knows, after all his bank balance has just jumped by two million.

Captain Young wants answers. He is determined to find the missing truck, but every door just gets slammed in his face. He knows something is not right but what, and who is really in charge and how does he prove it.During the time that Dave is kept hostage by the activists, he forms a strong bond with them and sympathises with their beliefs. Whilst on the journey to the village home of the prime minister, where they plan on unveiling the stolen nuclear waste to the media, the activists are attacked by some middle eastern terrorists.With Jimmy dead and another activist, Alice, kidnapped, they have an important decision to make. Do they go to the police and risk prosecution and jail or go and get the truck back and carry on with their plan and ultimately save the government that they are trying to discredit? It's at this point, knowing that he risks his own life, that Dave joins the activists. At a secluded barn where the terrorists are rigging explosives to the nuclear waste flask, the activists make their move.

After a gun fight, which results in four dead terrorists, they are back on the road with spirits running high.But all is not as it seems.As the bedraggled team of activists and Dave play out the final acts of their original plan, they realise that leader of the activists, and perhaps even the Prime Minister, may not be as they were told.The Prime minister wants them silenced.What started out as an exciting media ride has now turned into a political and corruption filled fight for their lives, but with the help from a disgruntled government investigator, Captain Young, they might just make it out alive, and in a history making TV broadcast, bring the government down too.
