Gregory Canning has published articles on Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy of science and religion and is currently doing research on the philosophies of technology and science in 20th century German thought. He is particularly interested in exploring the relation between freedom and technology in thinkers like Heidegger, Arendt, Jonas, and Spaemann. He plans to publish a translation with Alexander Schimpf of Spaemann's Nach uns die Kernschmelze (Klett-Cotta, 2011). He works as an adjunct professor at Assumption College in Worcester, MA, and is a Visiting Scholar at The Catholic University of America, where he received his doctorate.
