Kathy Berry grew up in a home of professional educators who prized life long learning. When she graduated with her Bachelors from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, her mother, likewise, was graduating with her Masters. Her father, an engineering professor with tenure, taught at ODU, while her brother, David, studied biology. Other siblings honed crafts and studied elsewhere. Schooling was a family affair. Religion and politics, on the other hand, were not. There were hearty debates and vastly differing views on the state of the union and the state of eternity. In her teens, Kathy stepped out of the discussions to seek her own answers on faith.

It began with one simple question, "What is truth?" "Sounds vague," she quips, but that was the foundation and the plumb line for every faith-based question. While starting a family, she made the decision to devote herself to biblical study. Homeschooling her daughters, Hannah and Emma, afforded the opportunity to pursue programs that would guide her understanding of Scripture. In these programs, she connected with the historical and cultural nuances of the text. Ten years passed. In that time, Kathy worked with Holocaust survivors to raise funds for aliyah, the call for Jews to return to their land. Working beside Jews and Gentiles in this endeavor sparked a fire to see the Jewish roots of Christianity return. Writing became the outlet to pass along these truths to the Church.

Seeking a Masters in Biblical and Jewish Studies became her goal. One Again Learning Tools was created to direct those interested in study materials related to the Jewish roots of Christianity. These three would form the platform to "Teach the Gentiles." Kathy continues to study Hebrew, write, and homeschool while attending Tikvat Israel Messianic Jewish Congregation in Richmond, Virginia. She enjoys Israeli folk dance, hiking, listening to her husbands' worship music, and watching her daughters grow in their gifts and callings.
