From a young age, Katie's parents instilled in her a love of animals and art. She has many childhood memories of long summer afternoons spent curled up in a quiet corner of the local library. As a teen, she loved music, movies, and writing short stories. An avid flute player, she was a drum major in high school and later a member of the UCLA marching band. Storytelling, however, was to be her calling. She knew she was in trouble when studying for her master's degree in public policy analysis, she was more interested in reading books and watching TCM.Katie Bishop lives outside Seattle with her husband Jon, two cranky old cats, Frankie and Penelope, and exuberant sheltie puppy, Teague. She holds degrees from UCLA and USC.

Her current obsessions include Dead Cells, Baseball, and the Criterion Channel.
