Dr. Barbara R. Blackburn is the bestselling author of 15 books and is a sought-after national and international consultant. She was an award-winning professor at Winthrop University and has taught students of all ages. Dr. Robert R. Blackburn is a leader in volunteerism, advocacy, and the ability to creative address public health challenges. He received his doctorate from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University in Health Education and Physical Education and retired from Gardner-Webb University in 1995.

He is the former President of the Association for the Advancement of Health Education in 1994, the Foundation for the Advancement of Health Education from 2002-2004, and the National Association for Local Boards of Health in 2013. He has also held a chair in the National AAHPERD Legislative Committee, the SDAAHPERD Legislative and Public Affairs Committee, and currently the NC AHA Advocacy Committee. Dr. Blackburn has presented to local, district, and national groups on topics such as "Making Advocacy Work for Middle School Teachers", "Networking for Effective Advocacy", "Politics in North Carolina", "Advocacy Training for Physical /Health Teachers", "The Keys to Effective Advocacy." In 2008, he was awarded the inaugural Award for Advocacy from The North Carolina American Heart Association for his outstanding achievement in advocacy. Dr. Ronald Williamson is Professor of Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. He has served as Executive Director of the National Middle School Association and as President of the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform.
