IMPROVE CRITICAL THINKING 17 chapters are divided into four parts to help student comprehension: Chapters 1-3 lay the groundwork for the study of human culture. Chapters 4 and 5 describe the systems of language and socialization basic to all human societies. Chapters 6-15 discuss specific topics within cultural anthropology. Chapters 16 and 17 focus on themes of cultural change that are addressed in every previous chapter.
