Covering Rough Ground
Kate Braid teaches creative writing at Malaspina College on Vancouver Island, and at UBC. She's been a receptionist, secretary, child care worker, lumber piler, carpenter, and the Director of Labour Studies at Simon Fraser University. In addition to her award-winning collections of poetry, Braid is the co-author of Red Bait! Struggles of a Mine Mill Local with Al King. Her poetry has been nominated for several awards, and won the Pat Lowther Award, and the VanCity Book Award.
