All my life, animals and art have been two of my main loves, so I guess it's not surprising that I would combine them for my retirement career. In 2013, I moved to Camano Island, Washington from Surrey, British Columbia. I enjoyed the more laid-back, small-town lifestyle of the Island which included a dynamic creative community. My husband and I lived there for nine years and my abilities as a professional artist and author grew with all the opportunities, I found for my pet portraits. However, as much as we enjoyed living on Camano Island, it became clear that my western/wildlife style of art and writing did not fit with the dynamics of a West Coast community. So, in November 2021, we decided to make a big change and moved to the small town of Selah in Central Washington. I instantly felt at home with the Western lifestyle and interests, and interest in my art and writing have already increased in the short time we have lived here. I also own a horse whom I board at a ranch in Selah, WA.
The equestrian activities here, which include barrel racing and cow work, have brought a whole new scope to my riding, and fresh ideas and reference opportunities for my artwork. I hope you will get many years of pleasure from my artwork and novels. Whether they are for yourself, or a gift for that someone special, may they always be a unique and beautiful keepsake.
