A fortified city provides sanctuary for two orphaned siblings. They receive food and a place to lay their heads by doing many chores for the townsfolk. Destiny, the youngest, has a fearless, adventurous nature. Valerian, her older brother and self-appointed protector, endeavors to keep his sister out of trouble. One day, Destiny convinces her brother to follow her outside the gates to have a day of adventure. Even though Destiny loves her brother dearly, she doesn't always share her total plans in advance.
