"Political theology is widely discussed but little understood. Across the humanities and critical social sciences it has become a buzzy theory--or is it a method, a field, or a topic? In popular discourse on current events, in the US and beyond, political figures and groups claim to have a "political theology," many of which are ethno-religious nationalisms and neofascist movements that are making use not only of religious symbols but of theoretical and theological frameworks developed in the academy and the concepts historical role in Nazi jurisprudence.
