Dr. David A. Brown was born in Bluffton, Ohio, on November 19, 1945 to O. Carl and Martha Gerber Brown. He attended Fort Wayne Bible College and Asbury Theological Seminary. He served in missionary and pastoral service for many years. He and his family served as missionaries in the Latin America countries of Nicaragua, Argentina, and Paraguay. Later, he accepted pastoral appointments in Florida and Alabama.
David saw a need for qualified educators, which led him to the University of Florida for a doctorate in higher education. This prepared him to serve as school principal at Christian schools in Paraguay, Ohio, and Kentucky. His missionary experiences actually began at the young age of ten when he went to Haiti with his missionary parents. Later, after marrying his bride, Carol L. Fields, his calling led them, along with their three daughters, to serve in five countries. Their family's pastoral and missionary service created eternal ripples in the lives of many people. David and his wife, Carol L. Fields Brown, had just celebrated fifty-three years of marriage when the Lord called David home to Heaven to receive his eternal reward on January 19, 2023 at the age of seventy-seven.
