Religion and politics are topics that can become very caustic in conversation. People have strong beliefs when it comes to these issues. The United States has guaranteed the freedom of religion. We the People can choose to worship as we see fit. Throughout the years, challenges have come before the courts in an attempt to balance the needs of the state (public safety, public well-being, etc.) with the freedom of religion guaranteed by the First Amendment. This book looks at some of the cases and resulting laws passed by Congress that attempt to maintain this balance and how these decisions and laws might affect our future.
