Im not scared of monsters by Mike Byrne is an adorable story of a little girl that is not afraid of any monster. She meets one in the woods on a walk. She surprises the monster by saying how are you and that she is not afraid of it. Very surprised but determined the monster calls another friend. The little girl says the same thing and that monster calls a third monster friend. However the little girl is just not afraid and the monsters are perplexed. They ask her what she is afraid of and she describes it which happens to be a spider. One comes out of the woods and the three monsters and little girl scream, all scared.

Her daddy comes running and explains to the little girl that the spider is probably more scare of them than they are of it. This is a story of overcoming our fear and learning. It is encouraging children to not be afraid of monsters and if there is something they are afraid of to learn about it. The illustrations are beautiful and bright. The monsters are the stars of their pages and not scary at all. This is encouraging for all children to see and possibly help them to learn to not be afraid.
