Dan Cameron is a New York-based curator, art writer and educator best known for having founded Prospect New Orleans, the triennial art exhibition that began operations shortly after Hurricane Katrina, from 2006 to 2011, and is currently preparing its fifth edition. For over a decade (1995-2006), his exhibitions as Senior Curator at the New Museum, New York, included now-historic surveys of William Kentridge, Faith Ringgold, Carolee Schneemann, David Wojnarowicz and Martin Wong. Cameron worked as Chief Curator at Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach, California (2012-2015), along with directing international art biennials in Istanbul (2003), Taipei (2006), Cuenca (2016) and Kansas City (2018).
