The collection, My addiction left untold is a deep poetry that tells the story of the struggle with addiction. It starts with the writer weaving a tale about a disease that he tries to hide from the eyes of the world. This goes to tell how far we go to protect our image, to not look weak. The writer is in a place where he is misunderstood and left alone in the cold hands of loneliness. He takes solace in the only thing he finds around him, alcohol, drugs. He does realize that substance abuse is not the way to go and so he seeks help but he finds none. He goes in search of a listening ear but apparently everyone was too busy leading their lives and so the writer withdraws back into the shell and the addiction takes hold of him.Yet does he rise again seeking to undo the mistakes of his past.
He tries to go back and seek for forgiveness from those he must have hurt instead of just wallowing in self pity, depression and addiction to alcohol and drugs. And in these acts of seeking for forgiveness he hopes his redemption would come from.
