Written during the early 1990's during the popularization of the grunge music era, this is a poetic exploration of the themes of love, politics, religion, civil obedience, and societal norms during the transition from teenager to young adult. Over twenty years later during the current polarizing political climate where norms and political correctness have once again faced formidable challenge, I have decided to release this closely guarded volume of poetry to not only encourage the reader to question authority in the forms of power and morality, but also draw attention to the themes of depression, anxiety, addiction, and suicide. Suffering for over a decade of mental illness myself, I feel compelled to discuss these issues in an open and frank manner and use part of the proceeds from each copy sold to benefit charitable organizations that offer direct assistance to people suffering from mental health and addiction issues.
