"Do you know the "signs of the times"? Jesus is coming back and the Scriptures give us twenty-two "signs of the times" of His return and of the end of the age. We are supposed to recognise them when we see them but ten have already happened in the last 50-100 years - seeing them, did you recognise them? Ten more are happening today around us. This leaves only two to come and one is the actual, visible return of Christ. We need to catch up. The Book of Revelation reveals seven of these signs - trumpets them so to speak - which any 1st century Jewish teenager would have easily recognised as an extraordinary, world-wide repeat of the fall of Jericho. In that day in about 1400 BC, when the seven trumpets sounded, the walls came a-tumblin down" as we still sing today, opening the way for the children of Israel into the Promised Land; in our day, the seventh trumpet blast is about to destroy the defences of the whole world and the meek will inherit it, renewed. To understand Revelation, Graeme seeks answers to questions few think to ask: where in the Old Testament did John find all of his images and metaphors, and what did they mean there? Why does God choose the signs that He does? Why seals, trumpets, and bowls? What else would a 1st century Jewish teenager have already known and readily recognised? This book offers the answers. When asked if he is a Preterist, Historicist, Futurist, or Idealist, the usual four perspectives of Revelation, Graeme points out that all four are partly right, which is why each has adherents, but none are completely right, which is why there are three other perspectives.
