My name is Steve Carter and I've been a procurement practitioner, management consultant, interim and trainer for more than 30 years. After graduating with a degree in Physics, I qualified as a management accountant (ACMA) and was awarded a MBA from Warwick University Business School. My employment has been varied - line and staff management positions in fmcg, automotive components and specialty chemicals as well as working as a consultant for Deloitte and KPMG. I have lived in both the UK and the Netherlands and worked in USA, Canada, many European countries, South Africa, Middle and Far East and Australia.During that time I have had the privilege of working with businesses of all sizes (some at the leading edge of their industries). These clients have been in both the public and private sectors.I don't say all of this to brag but to state my credentials as someone who has honed what it takes to succeed in this difficult but rewarding world of Procurement. One of the key things that I have learned over the years is building your career as a knowledge worker can be a lonely life unless you have someone you can turn to for advice yourself as well as alternative tools and techniques to try out in your business.
That is why I formed The Academy for Procurement Excellence. On my website and blog (www.a4pe.com) you will find an ever-expanding resource of free knowledge and insights that you can apply to your own career as well as paid for services and products such as the "Special Report" series.
