This excellent text covers both the theory and practice of various types of stepped channels in a comprehensive manner, including the use of new materials and a chapter on the risk of accidents and failures with stepped channels. The book is well referenced and contains a great deal of useful data. This book is very much about stepped channels and chutes and contains a wealth of knowledge on these subjects. The book is well documented and gives the impression of being very thorough. I was pleased to feel that the author does all he can to assist the reader in coming to grips with the material by showing results in graphical form, adding comments to results and also be giving examples of how to do calculations while in the process of making design.
