Through her colorful and engaging stories, Christell A Chapin, has written and illustrated many children's books, that appeal to both parents and children alike. Her stories are playful and educational, filled with rich, beautiful imagery, and while her books are entertaining, they also provide their young audience with creative ways to learn and positive messages which often focus on friendship, kindness, gratitude and self-esteem. The inspiration for her stories, comes from her own life experiences. Christell, was born and raised in northern California, and while elements of her childhood were joyful, other parts she describes as difficult, filled with loneliness, sorrow and struggles, which ultimately lead to her desire to write children's books with special focus on helping children to feel loved, valued and appreciated. In 2017, she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer, which is when she wrote her first book, DOCTOR, AM I BETTER YET?  which focuses on faith and hope, and the power of staying positive. It was at this time that she taught herself how to paint while undergoing chemotherapy treatments. She incorporated the lessons learned when she was bullied as a child into, PEPE'S JOURNEY, which encourages the reader to see themselves as worthy and valuable, regardless of the way they may look, where they came from, or how they dress, etc. and helps to build a child's self-esteem by looking within themselves for strength and courage.

Each of her stories has its own special message which is conveyed through a rhythm of dialogue, creating genuine and authentic poetry. Her books are filled with whimsical and imaginative illustrations that are sure to delight children everywhere for generations. " I hope my stories are able to provide kids with some guidance, comfort and support." Christell, expressed that if children have the tools necessary to grow into kind, healthy, compassionate adults, who are capable of shaping their lives for the better, then we all can look forward to a happier, healthier, hope filled world.
