Sally Cook and James Charlton are the authors of Hey Batta Batta Swing! The Wild Old Days of Baseball, also illustrated by Ross MacDonald (Simon and Schuster, 2007). A 2007 Parents Choice Silver Award Winner and Junior Library Guild Selection, Hey Batta Batta Swing! takes a zany look at how baseball has changed over the years. Sally Cook is also the author of New York Times best seller Another Season: A Coach#146;s Story of Raising an Exceptional Son (1997, Little, Brown), co-author of Yankee Miracles: Life with the Boss and the Bronx Bombers (2012, Norton) and author of several other books for children. James Charlton is also the author or editor of more than three-dozen books, on subjects ranging from croquet and hand gestures to humor and writing. From 2001-2007, he was publisher for the Society for American Baseball Research, and has been a judge for the Casey Award, given annually to the best baseball book. Ross MacDonald#146;s illustrations have appeared in national and international publications including The New Yorker, Newsweek, Time, The New york Times, Rolling Stone, The London Sunday Telegraph, and many more. He has also worked as a prop designer and consultant on many films and television shows. His work has been honored in competitions of design and illustration including American Illustration, Print Regional Design Annual, Communication Arts, The Society of Publication Designers, the AIGA, and The Society of Illustrators.


He has written and illustrated three picture books, and illustrated several more.
