Widowed at an early age, Maggie has never sought another long-term partner. Now she's moved from London to spend a year in the remote Scottish fishing village she used to visit as a child, but while the beautiful landscape is an inspiration for Maggie's art, she finds the place more than a little isolating. Maggie longs for more than the odd night of passion with an old and very married friend, especially as her aunt is still much courted despite turning eighty. Then she meets Andy and realizes that her love life might be about to get a little more interesting.
