Dr. Elsje Chun is an accomplished educator, director, performer, and author with more than four decades of experience spanning theatre, music, movement, and holistic education. Trained in acting, singing, and dance, she has directed and produced hundreds of performances for performers ranging from early childhood through adulthood, with a career rooted in the belief that the arts are essential to human development, communication, and well-being. She holds a Doctor of Psychology in Grief Counseling, a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Trauma and Resilience, and a Bachelor of Education with a teaching credential, all earned Summa Cum Laude. Her academic background informs a deeply human, psychologically grounded approach to performance, instruction, and storytelling. As a Teacher Specialist since 1982, Dr. Elsje Chun has taught across public, private, Title I, and charter school settings, developing curricula and leading programs in theatre, music, physical education, and speech. She has directed choirs, show choirs, drama programs, tap classes, recorder bands, and large-scale school and community musicals, as well as producing innovative fundraising and community events such as the acclaimed Singing Waiters production.

Her directing credits include productions of Aladdin, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Fiddler on the Roof, The Lion King, Once on This Island, The Sound of Music, and The Wizard of Oz, among many others. In addition to her work in live performance, she has extensive experience in videography and photography, documenting and shaping visual storytelling. Dr. Elsje Chun is also the author of multiple books focused on children's and teens' well-being, addressing themes of anti-bullying, resilience, emotional health, and personal growth. Her work consistently bridges the performing arts, education, and psychology-using voice, presence, and story as tools for connection, healing, and meaningful communication.
