Jay Coles (b. 1995). Rising writer, Jay Coles, is a Secondary English and Music Education Major and plans to be a middle school teacher in the next two years. Known for his rich creativity, stellar usage of language, and powerful plots, Jay has received numerous awards for his outstanding novels, novellas, short stories, plays, and poems. In fact, he was even chosen to be one of three editors for his high school literary magazine team. Jay writes and reads on a daily basis and spends his time writing book reviews. His inspiration comes from popular names, William Shakespeare, Bertolt Brecht, John Green, J. K.

Rowling, Edgar Allan Poe, James Baldwin, Samuel Beckett, among many others. Jay's also an active member of his community having served on numerous boards, advocating for equal rights, advocating to better the education system, and advocating for better international relations, among many other things.
