The author grew up on a farm during the great depression, struggled with limitations in early life, and found success in travel while working on ships to pay for a college education to achieve his dream of a career in engineering. After a successful career in engineering he retired to write fiction and his own story. His first three fiction novels are mysteries, based on his life experiences.
