James D. Cummins was born in Lima, Ohio and grew up on a farm in Indiana during the great depression. He graduated from High School in Alabama, and worked on ships to pay his way through college at University of California, at Berkeley. He earned a Masters in Computer Science while working as an Electrical Engineer in "Silicon Valley". He retired to write, and has written four mysteries and a memoir. Space Dynasty is his first Science Fiction novel.
