Growing up in San Francisco as the oldest of four children, Eric knew from a very young age that he wanted to become a veterinarian one day. As a child he owned a myriad of pets, including chinchillas, canaries, a Yorkshire terrier, and two cats. But then things got rough at home, with Eric narrowly avoiding foster care and eventually living with his grandma for his last two years of high school. Eric went on to intern at UCSF and then was accepted to UCLA. After two years at UCLA, Eric began a pet-sitting business out of his apartment in Los Angeles and was ultimately featured on the online blog of the Today Show. He then became the first person in his family to graduate from college, when he received his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Growing up in San Francisco, Pets, and My Journey of Self-Acceptance tells the adventure of a boy who dared to dream big, and let nothing stand in his way.
