An historical and principled examination of the free exercise of religion and American religious liberty. This work examines how Catholics have been deprived of religious and other American liberties, especially during the sexual abuse crisis in recent decades. It explores how Catholicism has contributed to the development of American religious liberty and also how anti-Catholicism has skewed the constitutional interpretation of that same liberty.
