When first we rouzd him, and he fled, the wind Was with the dogs left equally behind. 1 For. But when the game their following sight out-went, The dogs pursud him hotly by the scent.


2 For. Then wearied to a bay he quickly fell; " Well entered for the game." And in a groan his tragedy did tell. 1 For. Nature with music did that groan out-vie, A quire of birds did sing his obsequey. Chorus. That chorus was, for fear they should Forget their melting strain, Taught by the echoes of the wood To sing it oer again. Poet.
