It is a "mature romance" novella about two successful musicians with a rocky romantic history who reconnect after many years. They are, at first glance, a bad fit: Jen, self-protective and sensitive, and Zak, free-spirited and quirky to the max. Although Jen is reluctant to see Zak again, she and he are able to rekindle their love. When Zak suffers a serious medical emergency, Jen must decide whether to leave him or risk being tied forever to someone who may not even recognize her due to his injuries.
