Just a few short years after Jesus spoke these words, Paul would embody this very message, trading every seemingly good thing in his life to grab hold of The Pearl, and nowhere do we hear about the joy he found as clearly as we do within the book of Philippians. The Pearl in the Field is a 7-week Bible study over the book of Philippians that invites us to see how the kingdom of God is more beautiful and rare than any accomplishment, status, or identity we can work to possess. Using a mix of short literary stories, in-depth study of the book of Philippians, personal reflection, and a rich collection of biblical cross-references that reveal the heart of our kingdom inheritance, we will dive into the joy found in grabbing hold of the kingdom of God.
