Scientific studies have shown that plants are telepathic and communicate with each other. If only we could hear them, we would know that they could feel when they are in danger. And what is the threat? We humans! Unless we understand it quickly, it could be that Mother Nature ends up considering us as parasites that she must get rid of us by all means.
