John Detro is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and Physician Assistant with more than three decades of service in conventional and special operations medicine. An Airborne Ranger and combat veteran, he served in leadership roles ranging from Ranger Regiment medical positions to senior military medical commands, caring for wounded service members in combat and austere environments. Following his military career, he transitioned into academic medicine as a PA educator and author, focusing on leadership, resilience, and service. He is the author of No Retreat No Surrender, a memoir reflecting a life shaped by duty, sacrifice, and perseverance.
