Julia also writes fiction, poems, plays, and songs. She was the UK Children's Laureate 2011-13 and has been honoured with a CBE for Services to Literature. Julia lives in West Sussex, England. Lydia illustrates several bestselling series including the What the Ladybird Heard adventures and Princess Mirror-Belle, both written by Julia Donaldson.
