Hamin Halevy Donin established himself as an incomparable teacher and interpreter of Jewish law and practice through his books. For twenty years he was rabbi of Congregation B'nai David in Southfield, Michigan, where he was also Adjunct Professor of Judaic Studies at the University of Detroit. Before his untimely death in 1982, he was lecturer at Bar-Ilan University and lived for several years in Jerusalem.
